@chicagocatholicsinglesHey! My name is Kevin Murphy. I started this community after recognizing the need within my circle—and well beyond it—for a way to connect young adult, single Catholics with one another.
Initially, I wasn't sure how to go about this. But after coming across the website for Nashville Catholic Singles, I found the inspiration to establish a similar network in the Chicago area.
My girlfriend, Kelly, has shown me how important it is to see eye-to-eye on faith, with Christ at the center of a relationship. With her in the city and me out in the western suburbs, I think we're well positioned to reach a wide range of young adult Catholics.
Please see this community not as another means of finding dates, but rather as an intentional search for a like-minded, practicing Catholic. Thank you for your interest!

Chicago Catholic Singles (CCS) is for Catholics aged 22–35(ish) in the Chicagoland area who are single, free to marry in the Church, and interested in dating. Here's what that means:
CCS is intended for practicing Catholics who believe everything the Church teaches and want to date—and ultimately marry—a fellow Catholic. Those who are still learning about Catholicism or in the process of becoming Catholic are also welcome. Our events will often include prayer and the sacraments, and speakers will be devout Catholics.
If you are married, engaged, or actively in a relationship, this is not the community for you—but check out some other great young adult events! If you are divorced but have not received an annulment from the Catholic Church, you are still considered married in the eyes of God and not free to marry in the Church. If you've received an annulment or are widowed, welcome! It's totally up to you if and when you want to mention anything about a previous marriage.
Chicago Catholic Singles is geared toward people who are of reasonably marriageable age and don't necessarily have another obvious dating pool, such as classmates. The 21+ threshold also makes it easier for us to host events at breweries, serve wine at gatherings, and so on without running afoul of any laws.
If you are actively considering religious life or priesthood, are on a dating fast, or have decided for whatever reason that you're definitely not dating right now, this group may not be the best fit. Come back if something changes!
Keep in mind that you don't have to be ready to get married tomorrow to be open to dating—it's a process that takes time. In short, ask yourself: “If I met a great Catholic whom I found attractive, would I be willing to start dating and considering the possibility of marriage now?” If the answer is yes, come on out!
This is where we hold our events, but if you're willing to make the trek from South Bend or Milwaukee—or you happen to be visiting a Chicago friend—you're more than welcome to join us!
We'd love to hear from you
